On Wednesday 18th March 2020, the Government of Uganda announced the lockdown of all the places of worship, which also affected ACFM Uganda. Since March 2020, the church broke into home churches of five small groups where members meet all through the period of the lock down.
Beginning from August 2020, the government in collaboration Ugandan National Pastors’ forum began a training program for all pastors in all districts in preparation for the opening of churches. On Tuesday 1st September 2020, I attended the seminar where we were briefed on the Operating Standard Procedure (OPS) on COVID – 19 protocols. After the seminar, we were given a certificate of attendance with forms from the Ministry of Health on COVID 19 for every church service.
On Monday 21st September 2020, the lockdown on churches was lifted. On Sunday 4th October ACFM Kampala had its first service after eight [8] months of lockdown. The attendance was encouraging.
